Thank you for your interest in becoming a scorekeeper for Foster City Little League (FCLL). Our goal is to supply the league with well-trained, mature, and committed scorekeepers. If you are playing organized baseball or softball, please carefully consider whether you will realistically have the time to both score keep and play, in addition to your schoolwork. The spring season starts late February and goes through play-offs in early June.
In order to become a scorekeeper, you must:
Be between League age 12 – 18 years old AND you may not score keep a game in your current division
Attend the Scorekeeper classroom clinic from 7:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15th in the Crane room of the Foster City Rec Center.
Shadow an experienced scorekeeper for one training game if you are a new scorekeeper
Scorekeepers will be paid $15.00 per game. You can choose to receive two hours of community service per game instead of being paid. Scorekeepers will be paid at the end of the season. As we get closer to the season, we will provide you with a login and password for our scorekeeper scheduling website.
If you would like to be considered as a scorekeeper, you fill out the online application by Friday, January 27, 2017. We will have a limited number of openings available. Based upon response, we will invite as many youths as possible to become scorekeepers. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee everyone a spot. Those who are available to score keep both weeknights and weekends will have preference over part-time applicants.
We will e-mail those chosen by our selection committee on or before February 8th - - to confirm your decision to attend the scorekeeper clinic and to become an FCLL scorekeeper. Our selection criteria will be based on experience scorekeeping, baseball or softball knowledge & interest, temperament, and level of maturity.
